The person fulfiling the following criteria may apply for selection of district Ombudsperson under MGNREGS.

1. A person of eminent standing and impeccable integrity with at least 10 years of experience in Public Administration, Law Academics, social work or Management as per documents furnished along with the application.

2. Experience in working with people or community organization shall be a mandatory qualification.

3. Preference may be given to a person resident of the same or neighbouring district so as to take advantage of his/her firsthand knowledge about the district.

4. In case there is any vacancy due to resignation, removal, death etc., the person next in the approved panel shall be offered the appointrment as Ombudsperson without calling for a fresh meeting of the Selection Committee.

5. No person who is a member of a recognized political party or a banned organization shall be considered for appointment as Ombudsperson, each person shall be required to file a declaration to this effect along with the application.

6. Must be a physically active person and capable of conducting field tours, inspection and visit to remote rural location in the district.

Maximum Age limit: 68 Years
Age relaxation is applicable as per rules.
